Pat Selby

Pat Selby, 64 of Page, ND died on Thursday, April 11, 2024 in her daughter’s home in Page ND, with the care of Hospice of Red River Valley.  She was born Jan. 10, 1960 in the Country of Guam to Billy and Marjorie Selby. The family navigated living abroad while Billy served in the US Air Force. They returned to the United States and to Melcher, Iowa where Pat graduated from high school. She worked a short time in Des Moines, IA and lived in Arkansas before settling in North Dakota.

She worked in the Fargo area where she met her husband to be, Roger Melvin. Their daughter, Ashley was born in 1995 which was a surprise, and they considered her their “miracle” baby. They were married on Feb. 14, 1998 and they made their home in Page.

She worked at Wizard Works Fireworks near Arthur and later at John Deere Seeding Group in Valley City for several years. Roger passed away in December of 2012.

Pat loved to fish along with sewing, quilting, and collecting sewing machines and tea pots. She also always enjoyed a good party and her online shopping.

Pat is survived by a daughter, Ashley (Nathan) Nelson of Page; three grandchildren, Hailee Durley, Brady Durley and Josh Melvin Jr; sister, Gale (Gary) Powell of IA; brother, Gary (Dar) Selby of IA; nieces, Angie (Doug) Dejong and Carrie (Scott) Ulrich; nephew, Jimmy (Tenneille) Selby; and several great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger and step son, Josh Melvin.

Funeral Service: Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10 am West Funeral Home Chapel, Casselton with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Buffalo Cemetery.
